CALL FOR ENTRIES:
PRIDE: Professional Recognition of Interior Design Excellence
PURPOSE: The PRIDE Awards honor design excellence within the IIDA Southwest Chapter (including Arizona, New Mexico, and Las Vegas, Nevada) and celebrate innovative solutions for interior spaces. The PRIDE Awards Event is the Chapter’s longest running event celebrating over 20 years of design excellence in our community.
ENTRY CRITERIA: Any IIDA Professional, Associate or Student Member of the IIDA Southwest Chapter in good standing is invited to participate. Pending Members are welcome to submit, but must include a copy of their IIDA membership application. Previously awarded projects may not be submitted, except if previously submitted in On the Boards category, if completed between January 1, 2017 through January 30, 2020.
Non-winning projects may be resubmitted. Entries may only be submitted in one category per year with the exception of the Single Space category. Projects can be from any location, as long as the design is completed by an IIDA SW Chapter member, in good standing.

•On the Boards (must not be under construction)
•Single Space (office lobbies, reception areas, conference rooms, etc.)
•Commercial Office Over 75,000 SF
•Commercial Office 20,000 - 75,000 SF
•Commercial Office Under 20,000 SF
•Healthcare
•Educational (K-12)
•Educational (Higher Learning)
•Hospitality, Retail and Restaurant
•Public Facility (Government Buildng)
•Mixed Use (combination of use types)
•New Category-Innovative Design Component (Single ‘wow’ moment that communicates concept & story)
STUDENT
•Any project designed by a student or team of students (All students names should be listed in entry form)
JUDGING CRITERIA:
•All entries will be judged on the following criteria, listed below - with each criterion being given equal weight. Judging will be performed by IIDA professionals outside of the Southwest Chapter.
•Design concept displays originality and innovation
•Concept supports design elements and function is clearly displayed throughout the layout
•Strong connection in material selection (overall form, scale, color and texture, establishing design unity)
•Visual statement supports written statement.
•Jurors are given the option to not award in a category if they determine the work submitted to not exemplify the criteria being evaluated. If this occurs, the IIDA Southwest Chapter will not display the work or announce projects submitted in that category.
SCORING:
Each criterion is scored 1-7, which gives each project a maximum score of 28 points. All judging scorecards are totaled and averaged for a final score for each project. Projects are awarded based on the following point thresholds:
•No award: 0-21 points
•Award of Merit: 22-25 points
•Design Excellence: 26-28 points
•Best in Show: Judges select ONE project from Design Excellence recipients
HOW TO ENTER:
•All questions are due Friday, February 14th by 5:00pm
•All entries and payments are due Friday, February 28th by 5:00pm
•All late entries with additional late payment fees are due Wednesday, March 4th by 5:00 P.M.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
•All entries must be submitted electronically through this online portal. Each company representative will need to create an account. After the account is created, you will be able to enter your project/ projects.
•Submittals that have the clients name listed in the description or in any of the drawings or photos will be disqualified.
QUESTIONS:
Questions regarding project submittal guidelines and judging shall be submitted in writing no later than Wednesday, February 14th, by 5:00pm, to kmoreland@elontec.com. Responses to all questions will be compiled and provided to all IIDA members no later than Wednesday, February 19th. Questions regarding the submittal guidelines or judging will not be answered verbally. If there are any technical questions in regards to the website, there is a help button that sends an email to the web designer and kmoreland@elontec.
PAYMENT:
•All payments are due Friday, February 28th by 5:00pm and late submission fee deadline is Wednesday, March 4th by 5:00P.M.
•All entry fees are non-refundable.
•Entry Fees are as follows:
•$110.00 per project, per category
•$20.00 for Student projects
•For LATE ENTRY submissions after Friday, February 28th at 5pm, there is an ADDITIONAL non-refundable fee of $100.00 per project. The deadline of late entry submissions is Wednesday, March 4th, by 5:00pm
To pay by check, make payable to IIDA Southwest. If one check is covering multiple entries please include the number of entries in the memo line of the check. If you are using a personal check, please specify the firm name in the memo line so that payments and entries can be matched. Mail checks postmarked by Friday, February 21th. to:

AWARDS:
All award recipients will be announced the night of the PRIDE Awards on Thursday, April 23th, 2020. The winning projects will be published on the IIDA Southwest Chapter website as well as this competition website and may be published through additional sources as opportunities arise, including social media and print. Applicants do not have to be present to win.
REQUIREMENTS:
All entries uploaded to this competition must include the following:
1.ENTRY FORM
1.All teams must create an account before uploading project information.
2.PROJECT INFORMATION
1.Each team will be able to upload Photos, Floor Plans and provide project and team information. Uploads must be 10MB or less. The website will prompt you to select one photo that will represent the project submittal although judges will be able to see all that is uploaded. All team information will be hidden from judges.
3.SUBMITTAL COMPLETION
1.Teams will be able to add/delete information on project submittals until the final closing date of March 4th. All submittals must be completed by March 4th, 2020 or they will be disqualified as the submittal site will close.
